Fan's is a 94-square-metre café in Chengdu built inside a narrow space — an apparent obstacle, given its five-metre height. Rather than hide the tall ceiling, the design amplifies it, turning the room's proportions into its defining feature.
The owners wanted a place for homemade, healthy food inspired by European cuisine. That brief became the concept: the silhouette of a typical European house, echoed in the ceiling shape, a small roof structure, and the lighting hung beneath it.
Bright colour, natural materials and paintings along the walls make the room friendly and creative. A long wooden table set under the hanging roof gives the café a modern feel with a warm, homely centre.
